Laying of the 1st Stone

of the electrification process at the Paenal shipyard

On the 21st of March, the company Paenal laid the 1st Stone of the electrification process at the shipyard, which since 2007 has been dependent on Diesel generators. This ceremony registers in the company’s history the new phase of the company’s positioning in the national and international market.

Recognizing the importance of the event, government and local entities were present at the ceremony in order to witness this milestone. Among those present, the Deputy Governor for the Technical Area of the Province of Cuanza-Sul, Heitor Alfredo, the Administrator of Porto Amboim, Maria Sumano and the representatives of the companies involved, for Paeal its Director Luís Miguel Barroso and for CME – Construção and Electromechanical Maintenance, SA its Administrator Anibal Antunes.

According to the General Manager of Paenal, with the implementation of this project, the company will no longer be dependent on diesel generators connected to the public network and will thus create major positive impacts in two areas, one of which is the reduction of the company’s cost structure, which will make the company more competitive in the national market and the other the reduction of the emission of CO2 Gases in accordance with the strategies of the national and international industry.
